Dip nibhe gechhe momo nishithosomire 
Dhire dhire eshe tumi jeyo na go phire ।। 

E pothe jokhon jabe andhare chinite pabe 
Rajonigondhar gondho bhorechhe mondire ।। 

Amare poribe mone kokhon se lagi 
Prohore prohore aami gaan geye jagi ।। 

Bhoy pachhe shesh raate ghum ashe ankhipate 
Klanto konthhe mor sur phuray jodi re ।। 


দীপ নিবে গেছে মম নিশীথসমীরে 

পর্যায় : প্রেম 

দীপ নিবে গেছে মম নিশীথসমীরে, 
ধীরে ধীরে এসে তুমি যেয়ো না গো ফিরে ।। 

এ পথে যখন যাবে আঁধারে চিনিতে পাবে- 
রজনীগন্ধার গন্ধ ভরেছে মন্দিরে ।। 

আমারে পড়িবে মনে কখন সে লাগি 
প্রহরে প্রহরে আমি গান গেয়ে জাগি । 

ভয় পাছে শেষ রাতে ঘুম আসে আঁখিপাতে, 
ক্লান্ত কন্ঠে মোর সুর ফুরায় যদি রে ।। 

Translation 

My lamp is put out by the night breeze. 
Don't go back when you come in quietly. 

As you traverse this road you'll surely identify. 
That temple is filled with aroma of night-jasmine. 

When I may be remembered I wonder. 
Hence I remain awake singing prayer every hour. 

I am afraid that my eyes may droop downwards. 
Should my tones empty from my tired vocal chords.
