Aami jene shune beesh korechi paan. 
Pranero asha chhere shopechi praan. 

Jatoi dekhi taare tatoi dohi, 
Apono monojwala nirobe sohi, 
Tobu pari ne dure jete, morite ashi- 
Loi go buk pete anolbaan. 

Jotoi hashi niye dahan kore 
Totoi baare trisha premero tore, 
Premo-amiritodhara jotoi jachi 
Totoi kore prane ashoni daan. 

আমি, জেনে শুনে বিষ করেছি পান। 
প্রাণের আশা ছেড়ে সঁপেছি প্রাণ। 

যতই দেখি তারে ততই দহি, 
আপন মনোজ্বালা নীরবে সহি, 
তবু পারি নে দূরে যেতে, মরিতে আসি, 
লই গো বুক পেতে অনল-বাণ। 

যতই হাসি দিয়ে দহন করে, 
ততই বাড়ে তৃষা প্রেমের তরে, 
প্রেম-অমৃত-ধারা ততই যাচি, 
যতই করে প্রাণে অশনি দান। 

Translation

Knowingly I devoured all the venom. 
Leaving hopes of life while life I welcome. 

I burn whenever I see her 
The pains of burns I silently bear. 
Still can't go far, to die I come near. 
I embrace the fire with my bosom 

So much I try to suppress sufferings with smile; 
So much thirst of love is up on the rise. 
So much the nectar of love I aspire; 
So much life earns inauspicious ribbon.
