আজি ঝরো ঝরো মুখর বাদরদিনে 
জানি নে, জানি নে কিছুতে কেন যে মন লাগে না ॥ 
এই চঞ্চল সজল পবন-বেগে উদ্ভ্রান্ত মেঘে মন চায় 
মন চায় ওই বলাকার পথখানি নিতে চিনে॥ 

মেঘমল্লার সারা দিনমান।
বাজে ঝরনার গান। 
মন হারাবার আজি বেলা, পথ ভুলিবার খেলা, মন চায় 
মন চায় হৃদয় জড়াতে কার চিরঋণে॥

Translation

Today, in drizzling clamorous cloudy day. 
Know not I, know not why, nothing in my mind stay. 

These restless moist gushing airs, aimlessly to clouds the mind stares. 
And the heart yearns to know the path where the geese fly. 

All day long in strains of Megh Malhar, 
trickles the songs of downpour. 
This mind desires to lose oneself this is the apt hour, to lose path and play. 
The minds yearns that debts of someone this heart may embrace.
